Vector Marketing Presents Highest Corporate Honor for Community Service
Posted on Monday, November 7th, 2011
PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Nov 7, 2011) - John Wasserman, division manager for Vector Marketing Corporation, the direct sales division of Cutco Cutlery Corporation, was presented with the "Marty Domitrovich Triple Crown of Service" award at the company's recent Strategic Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. The award is given in memory of one of Vector Marketing's most esteemed leaders, and is presented each year to the person showing outstanding contributions to his or her community.
Etched on the Triple Crown of Service plaque is one of Marty's favorite sayings, illustrating his positive outlook on life: "You have the ability to live a life filled with more joy and satisfaction than you ever imagined. There are no limits except the ones you put on yourself. We have all been put on earth for a special purpose, with talents and abilities we haven't yet realized. Success means truly understanding what is important in life and what gives you joy and happiness. Whatever that is for you, do it with one hundred percent passion."
Wasserman, a resident of Furlong, Pennsylvania, manages nine Vector Marketing offices throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He received the award in recognition of his commitment to helping several organizations in his community that benefit those who are less fortunate, and for inspiring those who work for him to do the same.
Wasserman has contributed his time and efforts to numerous local charities, including:
- The Jewish Relief Agency, for which he and his team packaged food in boxes and delivered to needy people in the city of Philadelphia.
- The Front Row Foundation, whose mission is to help individuals and their families who are braving critical health challenges live their lives to the fullest by providing front row seats to concerts, sporting events and live performances of the recipient's choice.
- Crayons for Kids. Wasserman and his team are currently collecting new crayons, coloring books, DVDs, video games, baby rattles, and other new, unused items that can occupy a child's mind, which they will then donate to St. Christopher's Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.
"I like to make sure we initiate a community service project during every sales campaign," said Wasserman. "With three campaigns per year, we are able to benefit a variety of local charities."
Wasserman, a 1993 graduate of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, is married with two children, ages nine and seven. In December, he will celebrate his twentieth anniversary working with Vector Marketing.
"This award carries great personal meaning for me," he said. "Marty Domitrovich, for whom the award was named, was my leadership coach and a true personal and professional mentor. Marty gave to his friends, family, and community every day of his life, even during his battle with cancer, which he eventually lost. I am proud and honored to uphold his legacy."
