Unbelievable Opportunities for Students Like Me!
I was 17 years old when I started working with Vector Marketing Canada. I was just graduating high school at the time. That was two and a half years ago, in June of 2010. At the time, it was meant to be a summer job to help earn some cash for university. It turned out to be one of the best summers of my life! In that summer, I sold my first $13,000 worth of Cutco Cutlery and made about $3,000 in income while working for only two months of the summer.
Not only did I make decent money, I also had a few travel opportunities with the company. I went to Calgary, white-water rafting in Golden, B.C. and Montreal for our summer-end conference! I also met some of my best friends to this day during that summer. However, more importantly, I learned valuable business and life skills that I will use for the rest of my life.
Those that knew me before I started with Vector Canada could tell you that I wasn’t the most impressive of people, to say the least. I was shy and I didn’t work hard in school. However, what they could also tell you was that I worked really hard at things that I was passionate about. It turned out that, from the first day of training with Vector Canada, I fell in love with the culture, the atmosphere and the products themselves. The atmosphere in my local office was always so positive and energetic. The people were always helping me to get better, rather than negatively pointing out all of my mistakes and/or weaknesses (and there were many). I also soon found out how much people love Cutco, and why it is the number one selling product of its kind.
Because of what I learned and gained from that first summer, I continued to work with the company around school throughout the year. I was also given the opportunity to take part in management training throughout that school year, which I happily accepted. I then trained throughout the year around school to open my own branch office in the summer of 2011. In other words, at the age of 18, I was given the opportunity to run my own summer business in which I was fully in charge of building a team, as well as all other aspects of small business ownership.
That summer was by far the greatest experience that I have ever had! I learned things and did things that I never thought imaginable for an 18 year old. At least for me, anyway! The skills (not to mention the income) that I earned that summer were incredible. On top of that, the experience made school a great deal easier for me, simply because of the time management skills and work ethic that I gained.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that the opportunities available within Vector Marketing Canada are unbelievable, and what’s greater is that they are available to everyone! You’d be amazed at what you can create in yourself just by working with a company like this. Two and a half years later, I wouldn’t trade this opportunity for anything.
